OPTIONAL Row counter MATERIALS Ultimate Sweater Machine KEYPLATE USM/ISM KP#3 or appropriate tension to obtain gauge. Suitable for USM/ISM/Bond Classic or 6.5 to 9 mm knitting machine ADDITIONAL MATERIALS 2 yards 1/4" ribbon Claw weights Latch tool Single-pronged transfer tools (2) Yarn needle GAUGE In Stockinette stitch using KP#3, 16 sts and 20 rows = 4”/10 cm STITCHES USEDStockinette stitch Basketweave/Texture stitch Crisscross stitch BASKETWEAVE/TEXTURE STITCHK 4 R. Drop down 4 ladders (place latch tool in st under 4 ladders to keep it from dropping down too far) and reform all 4 sts next to end st down 4 rows. (End sts are left unworked.) Reform additional sts starting at 11th stitch from right and then every foll 6th st- end 10 sts on left. *K 8 R. Drop down 4 ladders and reform all 4 sts next to end st down 4 rows. Reform additional sts starting at 8th stitch from right and then every foll 6th st- end 7 sts on left. K 8 R. Drop down 4 ladders and reform all 4 sts next to end st down 4 rows. Reform additional sts starting at 11th stitch from right and then every foll 6th st- end 10 sts on left.* Rep from * to * CRISSCROSS STITCH(uneven number of sts) Row 1: Make long stitches by taking yarn out of the carriage and knitting row by hand. Hold yarn very loosely and K ea st, pushing the ndl to the back of the bed as you work. (You can use claw weights to hold work down.) When row is finished long sts will form as ndls move into WP. Row 2: (Work from right to left using 2 single-pronged transfer tools.) First: Make a 1x1 RIGHT cross cable (take sts off ndls with single-prong transfer tools, cross them with left st on top and replace on ndls) on first 2 ndls and cont across row making a cable on every pair of ndls. There will be one st unworked on left side. Do not take carriage across row. Next: Skip the first ndl on the right and do the same thing across row again with a 1x1 LEFT cross cable (right st on top). Do not take carriage across row. Last: Repeat the First step, then K row by hand. Set RC up 2 rows. NEEDLES REQUIRED - 117 BLANKET
