  • Using Embellish Knit and B, make two 21" and two 16" i-cords. Have both ends open and run yarn end through sts loosely to prevent unraveling. Using yarn needle, thread elastic through each i-cord leaving approx 3" extra on ends. Set aside.Using WY, CO 118 sts. K 6 R. Cont with WY and set up ndls for Mock Rib. Starting on LHS, using transfer tool, transfer st from 5th ndl to 4th and 6th ndl to 7th. Work across row moving every foll 5th and 6th sts in same manner to make a 2x4 Mock Rib. Put empty ndls into NWP. K2R. Break off WY. Change to MY. COR. RC=000.  Mock Rib: Work to RC=076. (NOTE: Take carriage slowly across ea row and check to see that all sts knit properly.) Leaving sts in Mock Rib, take work off on WY.*Hang long i-cord: Put 80 ndls into HP and hang a long i-cord on machine using transfer tool - stretch so that it fits on all ndls and is not twisted. Push to back of ndls, leaving ndls in HP.Rehang Mock Rib: Hang (wrong side facing front) the 80 MY sts on the ndls. Push sts back next to i-cord. Change to A and K 1 row by hand.Rib: COL. Set RC to 000. Using A, K to RC=021. Drop (20 R) and latch up every 3rd st across row to make 1x2 rib. Remove to WY. Do not cut yarn. Hang short i-cord: Put 60 ndls into HP and hang a short i-cord on machine using transfer tool - stretch so that it fits on all ndls and is not twisted. Push to back of ndls, leaving ndls in HP.Rehang Rib: Hang (wrong side facing front) the 80 sts on 60 ndls by doubling up every 3rd and 4th st across row. Push sts back next to i-cord. K 1 row by hand. BO (back st).*
  • Rep from * to * to complete opposite side of bag.
FINISHING
  • Fold bag in half and seam sides of Mock Rib bottom, stopping at i-cord.Adjust elastic in bottom i-cords so that they measure approx 17" ea. Tie elastic at sides to secure. Hide elastic ends in i-cord and graft openings together.Adjust elastic in top i-cords so that they measure approx 12" ea. Using needle and thread secure elastic at ends. Close all ends.Using B, make an i-cord approx 100" long. Using needle and thread, tack in place foll picture. Start at side and continue under bottom i-cord on both sides. Work up and around ribbed sides adding straps (approx 20-22"). Optional: Using B, make 2 small i-cords to use for closures foll picture.
  • Weave in ends.
