USM/ISM KP#4 or appropriate tension to obtain gauge 
Suitable for USM/ISM/Bond Classic or 6.5 to 9 mm knitting machine

Yarn needle
J-10 (6 mm) crochet hook 
GAUGE
In Stockinette stitch with KP 4, 15 sts and 18 rows = 4”/10 cm
STITCHES USED
Stockinette stitch (St st)
NEEDLES REQUIRED 100

SHAWL

  • Using WY, CO 100 sts. K 6 R. Break off. Change to MY. COR. RC=000.
  • First wedge: K 1 R. COL. *Put 4 end ndls on RHS into HP and work row. Put 1 additional ndl into HP and return carriage for 2nd row.* Cont working from * to * 23 additional times. Put all ndls into FWP, with latches open, and K 1 R slowly. RC=050.
  • Repeat first wedge 15 additional times. RC=800. Leave long tail end for grafting.
  • Change to WY and K 6 R. Remove work.
  • Graft sides together to form circle.
FINISHING
  • Close center hole by making running sts around edge. Gather tightly and secure.Add crochet to bottom of scarf. 
  • Round 1: Sc around in every other st. Join end of round with sl st.
  • Round 2: Ch 1, sc in same st, *Ch 4, sc in next sc* around. Join with sl st.
  • Round 3: Sl st in the first ch space, *ch 6, sc in next loop* around. Finish off.
  • Weave in ends.
  • Block to measurements.
  • Lightly steam crochet to flatten.
