TUNIC

BACK
  • Using MC and closed CO method, CO 88 (96, 106, 116) sts. COR. RC=000.
  • K 2 R. Reform stitches on last R. Repeat once.
  • Shape sides: Dec 1 st beg next 2 R, then every foll 15 (18, 14, 12) R 6 (5, 6, 7) times. - 74 (84, 92, 100) sts. RC=096 (096, 090, 090). K to RC=118 (118, 114, 112).
  • Shape armholes: BO 4 (4, 5, 5) sts beg next 2 R. Dec 1 st ea end EOR 4 (7, 8, 10) times - 58 (62, 66, 70) sts. RC=128 (134, 132, 134).
  • K to RC=164 (164, 164, 164).
  • Shape shoulders: BO 5 (6, 6, 7) sts beg next 2 R. BO 6 (6, 7, 7) sts beg foll 2 R. Put rem 36 (38, 40, 42) sts on WY for Back neck. RC=168 (168, 168, 168).

FRONT TOP
  • Using MC and closed CO method, CO 74 (84, 92, 100) sts. COR. RC=000.
  • K to RC=022 (022, 024, 022).
  • Shape armholes: Work as for Back—58 (62, 66, 70) sts. RC=032 (038, 042, 044).
  • K to RC=054 (054, 054, 054).
  • Neckline: COR. Put center 24 (26, 28, 28) sts on WY - 17 (18 19, 21) sts ea side. 
  • Shape right neckline and shoulder: LH ndls in HP. Dec 1 st at neck edge ER 6 (6, 6, 7) times. K 8 (8, 8, 7) R. RC=068 (068, 068, 068). BO as for Back. 
  • Shape left neckline and shoulder: Work as for Right side, reversing shapings. 
FRONT BOTTOM SIDES
  • Using MC and closed CO method, CO 38 (43, 47, 51) sts. COR. RC=000.
  • Right side: K 1 R. On LHS inc 1 st every 15 (18, 14, 12) R  6 (5, 6, 7) times and AT SAME TIME on RHS dec 1 st every 2 (2, 1, 1) R  36 (48, 16, 26) times then every 3 (0, 2, 2) R  8 (0, 37, 32) times. RC=096 (096, 090, 090). 
  • Left side: Work as for Right side with reverse shaping.
FRONT WEDGE GROUP (Three wedges with the center one in Rev St st.)  

  • Using WY, CO 80 sts. K 6 R. Break off. Change to MC. See technique instructions. 
  • Center wedge: COR. RC=000. K 1 R. COL. Put all ndls into HP. Return first 7 ndls (carriage side) into FWP with latches open and K 1 R. Then put 1 ndl back into HP (wrap) and K 1 R. Work these two rows 10 (11, 12, 13) additional times. RC=0023 (025, 027, 029). Put all ndls into FWP with latches open. K 2 R. COL. Put 7 far RHS ndls into HP and K 1 R. Then put 1 additional ndl into HP (wrap) and K 1 R. Work these two rows 10 (11, 12, 13) additional times. Put all ndls into FWP with latches open and K 1 R. RC=048 (052, 056, 060). 
    • K 6 R WY and take off machine.
    • Side wedge #1: Rehang one side of Center wedge on machine with wide end on LHS and knit side facing front. Using A, repeat directions for Center wedge, EXCEPT do not take off on WY. BO (back stitch) from right to left.
    • Side wedge #2: Rehang rem side of Center wedge on machine with narrow end on LHS and knit side facing front. COL. RC=000. Using B, K 1 R. COR. Put all ndls into HP. Return first 7 ndls (carriage side) into FWP with latches open and K 1 R. Then put 1 ndl back into HP (wrap) and K 1 R. Work these two rows 10 (11, 12, 13) additional times. RC=023 (025, 027, 029). Put all ndls into FWP with latches open. K 2 R. COR. Put 7 far LHS ndls into HP and K 1 R. Then put 1 additional ndl into HP (wrap) and K 1 R. Work these two rows 10 (11,12, 13) additional times. Put all ndls into FWP with latches open and K 1 R. RC=048 (052, 056, 060). BO (back stitch) from left to right.
    SLEEVES
    • Using MC and closed CO method, CO 38 (40, 42, 44) sts. COR. RC=000.
    • K 2 R. Reform stitches on last R. Repeat once.
    • Shape sides: Inc 1 st ea end every 11 (8, 7, 7) R once, then every foll 12 ( 9, 8, 8) R 4 (6, 7, 7) times - 48 (54, 58, 60) sts. RC=063 (066, 067, 067).
    • K to RC= 074 (074, 074, 074).
    • Shape cap: BO 4 (4, 5, 5) sts beg next 2 R. Dec 1 st ea end EOR 1 (6, 5, 5) time(s), then every 3 R 10 (2, 6, 6) times, then EOR 1 (6, 4, 4) time(s) - 16 (18, 18, 20) sts. RC=110 (106, 112, 112). 
    • BO loosely.
    NECK EDGE
    • Sew left shoulder seam.
    • Bring out 90 (94, 98, 100) ndls to HP. With WS facing, rehang 36 (38, 40, 42) sts from back neck holder, 15 sts from left front neck edge, 24 (26, 28, 28) sts from front neck holder and 15 sts from right front neck edge. COR. RC=000.
    • Using KP 1, K 2 R. Reform stitches on last R. Repeat once.
    • K 1 R. BO.
    FINISHING
    • Sew right shoulder seam. Sew sleeve tops to armholes, easing as necessary.
    • Seam Front Bottom Sides to Front Wedge Group to complete the bottom front. Seam it to the Front Top.
    • Sew side and sleeve seams.
    • Work 1 R sc and 1 R rev sc on bottom of wedges matching the colors.
    • Weave in ends. Steam wedges lightly.
