Vest is worked in 4 pieces, Back, 2 Fronts and Hood. 

BACK

COL. Using closed CO Method and MY, CO 61 (67, 73) sts. COR. RC=000.
  • K to RC=052. COR. Reset RC=000.
  • Shape Armholes: BO 3 (4, 5) sts at beg of next 2 rows—55 (59, 63) sts rem. RC=002.
  • Dec 1 st each side every other row 5 (6, 7) times—45 (47, 49) sts rem. RC=012 (014, 016). COR.
  • K to RC=041 (043, 045).
  • Shoulders and Neck: BO center 19 sts for neck.
  • BO 13 (14, 15) sts each side for shoulders
RIGHT FRONT
COL. Using closed CO Method and MY, CO 31 (34, 37) sts. COR. RC=000.
  • K to RC=052. COR. Reset RC=000.
  • Shape Armholes: BO 3 (4, 5) sts at beg of next row. 
  • K 1 row even. RC=002.
  • Dec 1 st each side every other row 5 (6, 7) times—23 (24, 25) sts rem. RC=012 (014, 016). COR.
  • K to RC=025 (027, 031). COL.
  • Shape Neck: BO 5 sts, knit across. 
  • K 1 R. RC= 027 (029, 031). COL.
  • At neck edge, dec 1 st ER 5 times. COR. 
  • K to RC=041 (043, 045). 
  • BO rem 13 (14, 15) sts.
LEFT FRONT
Work as for right Front, rev all shaping.
HOOD
COL. Beg at Front edge, using closed CO Method and MY, CO 87 sts. COR. RC=000.
  • K to RC=016. COR.
  • Shape Hood: Dec 1 st each side every 3 rows 10 times. RC=044. 67 sts rem. 
  • K to RC=056. COR.
  • BO.
FINISHING
  • Sew shoulder and side seams.
  • Sew Hood Back seam; sew hood evenly around neck shaping, easing to fit. 
  • Front Bands: With RS facing, using crochet hook, join yarn with a slip st to lower right Front; ch 1, work 1 row sc evenly around entire Front edge, (up right Front, around Hood, and down left Front to lower edge. 
  • Fasten off.
  • Using tn, weave in ends. 
  • Drawstring (optional): Using crochet hook, work a chain 48" or desired length. Beg at right Front neck edge, just below Hood seam, thread chain in and out through garment around entire neck edge, ending at left Front.
  • Tie in a bow (see photo).
