KNIT STITCHES USEDStockinette stitch (St st): Knit side = right side
Lace Rib (See Chart and Technique instructions)
Lacy Neck Edging(multiple of 5 sts)
  • CO 5 sts (Chain st). 
  • K 5 R by hand. Hang Claw weight.
  • * Put stitch 2 onto ndl 3 and stitch 4 onto ndl 3. Put all ndls into WP.
  • K 4 R.
Repeat from * for desired length. (It is easy to check as claw weight can be removed to check measurement.)
CROCHET STITCHES USED
Chain (ch): Begin by making a slip knot on your hook. * Wrap the yarn around the hook (yarn over) and pull up a loop, [draw the yarn through the loop on the hook to form the first chain]. Repeat from * for desired length.
Single Crochet (sc): Insert hook in stitch indicated, yarn over and pull up a loop, yarn over and draw through both loops on hook.
NEEDLES REQUIRED: 88 (96, 104, 114, 122)
BACK (Work St st)
  • Using closed CO Method (Chain CO), CO 88 (96, 104, 114, 122) sts. COR. RC=000. 
  • K to RC=028 and mark ea side for slit. 
  • K to RC=102 (106, 108, 106, 108).
  • Shape Armhole: Bind off 5 (5, 6, 7, 7) sts at beg of next 2 rows—78 (86, 92, 100, 108) sts rem. 
  • K to RC=138 (138, 140, 142, 144).
  • Shape Neck: Bind off center 30 sts—24 (28, 31, 35, 39) sts rem ea side. Place LH ndls in HP. COR.
  • At neck edge, dec 1 st ER 5 (6, 7, 9, 9) times—19, 22, 24, 26, 30) sts rem for shoulder.  
  • K to RC = 158 (158, 160, 164, 166).
  • Bind off rem sts, or put on WY for shoulder seam.
  • COL. Rep for opposite side.
FRONT (Work in St st ea side of 30 sts at center Front in Lace Rib)
  • Using closed CO Method (Chain CO), CO 88 (96, 104, 114, 122) sts. COR. RC=000. 
  • K 2 R. 
  • Est Patt: Beg Lace rib on center 30 sts (See Chart and Technique instructions), keeping sts on either side in St st. 
  • Work as for Back, keeping center 30 sts in Lace rib, to RC=136 (136, 138, 140, 142). 
  • Change to St st on all sts; complete as for Back. 
  • Join shoulder seams. 
SLEEVES (Work in Lace Rib)
  • With WS facing, hang armhole opening onto 84 (84, 84, 90, 90) ndls. COR. RC=000.
  • K 2 R. 
  • Beg Lace Rib (See Chart; work 6-st repeat across). 
  • Work to RC=034 (034, 034, 040, 040). 
  • Change to St st on all sts; K 1 R.
  • Bind off (Back st).
FINISHING
  • Join sleeve and side seams, leaving opening for bottom slit as marked.
  • Neckline: Work 1 R sc around neck shaping. 
  • Measure around neckline; work a piece of Lace edging to measured length, allowing extra for ease.  
  • Open edging so that it can be sewn on as a flat piece; beg at center Back.
  • Using sewing needle and matching thread, sew edging around neckline, easing to fit, as necessary; unraveling extra length for an exact fit.
  • Join ends of edging at center Back.
  • Sleeve Ties: Work two 30" crochet chains. 
  • Beg and end at center of sleeve, thread Tie in and out of holes at lower edge of ea sleeve to gather to desired width. Tie into bow; unravel end to get desired tie length, if necessary.
  • Using yarn needle, weave in ends.
  • Steam lightly to open up lace.
