GAUGE

STITCHES USED

FLAPS WITH BOBBLES
NOTE: This a larger variation of the technique with a bobble added.

Do not use hem. Use open CO Method with WY and work first few rows by hand - then use one claw weight. You will be doing the Garter stitch by reforming stitches every other row. Do not reform end stitches.
- Using open CO Method and WY, CO 10 sts. COR. K 6 R. Break off. RC=000.
- Using CC, K 2 R and reform sts on last row - use latch tool to drop sts down, reform and replace on ndls.
- K 2 R, reform sts on last row and dec 1 st each side.
- Add Bobble: Take yarn out of carriage and K 5 sts by hand from right to left. K the last 2 sts back from left to right. Work 3 more rows back and forth by hand on the 2 sts. K the rem 3 sts by hand on the left side. Pick up the original 2 center sts and put them on the ndls so there are 2 sts on both center ndls. Move the carriage to the left and advance RC 1 R. K 1 R and do notreform sts. Dec 1 st ea side
- Repeat step 3 twice. K 1 R. RC=011.
- Thread yarn through rem 2 sts and remove work, leaving 10" tail of yarn.
- Use tail of yarn to sew a bead to end of flap when project is completed. Weave in end.
NEEDLES REQUIRED: 64 (64, 68, 68)
BACK/FRONT (with Flaps with Bobbles)
- Make 5 (5, 6, 6) Flaps with Bobbles following instructions.
- Bottom Flaps: Hang hem. With WS facing, hang the open sts from the completed Flaps on 50 (50, 60, 60) ndls. Push sts back. Put ndls in FWP. COR. RC=000.
- Using CC, K 1 R
- Next row: Inc 0 (6, 0, 4) sts evenly across row - 50 (56, 60, 64) sts
- K to RC=006.
- Change to MC and K to RC=036 (042, 044, 052). Mark both sides for armhole opening.
- K to RC=056 (064, 068, 080).
- Shape Neck: Put center 12 sts on WY - 19 (22, 24, 26) sts ea side. COR. LH ndls in HP. Dec 1 st at neck edge ER 5 (5, 7, 7) times - 14 (17, 17, 19) sts. K to RC=068 (076, 080, 092).
- BO rem sts or put on WY for shoulder seam.
- COL. Rep for opposite side.
COLLAR
- Join right shoulder seam.
- Bring out 64 (64, 68, 68) ndls to HP. With WS facing, rehang 10 (10, 11, 11) sts from left back neck edge, 12 sts from back neck WY, 10 (10, 11, 11) sts from right back neck edge, 10 (10, 11, 11) sts from right front neck edge, 12 sts from front neck WY and 10 (10, 11, 11) sts from left front neck edge. Put ndls in FWP.
- Using MC, K 1 R.
- Change to CC and K to RC=009.
- BO using back st.
SLEEVES (with Fun Flaps - see technique)
- Make 5 (5, 6, 6) Fun Flaps following technique instructions.
- Bottom Flaps: Hang hem. With WS facing, hang the open sts from the completed Flaps on 40 (40, 48, 48) ndls. Push sts back. Put ndls in FWP. COR. RC=000.
- Using CC, K to RC=006, then change to MC for rem of sleeve. AT THE SAME TIME inc 1 st ea side every 6 (6, 9, 7) R, 1 (1, 1, 7) time(s), then every 7 (7, 10, 8) R, 4 (6, 4, 1) time(s) - 50 (54, 58, 64) sts. K to RC=040 (054, 058, 064)
- BO loosely.
FINISHING
- Sew rem shoulder seam and collar seam.
- Sew sleeves in place.
- Sew side and underarm seams.
- Sew beads to ends of all Flaps.
- Weave in ends.
- Steam lightly.
