PULLOVER – HAND KNIT VERSION
BACK
Note: 
For Striped version, see Notes at beginning of instructions.
Using smaller needles and MC, CO 90 (94, 102, 106, 114) sts. (RS) Begin 1x1 rib; work even for 4 rows, end with a WS row. Change to larger needles and St st; work even for 2 rows, end with a WS row.
Shape Sides
(RS) Dec 1 st each side this row, then every 6 rows 2 (2, 3, 3, 4) times—84 (88, 94, 98, 104) sts remain. Work even until piece measures 7 1/2 (7 1/2, 8 1/2, 8 1/2, 9 1/2)" from beg, end with a WS row.
(RS) Inc 1 st each side this row—86 90, 96, 100, 106) sts; pm each side. Work even until piece measures 14 1/2 (14 1/2, 14 1/2, 15 1/2, 15 1/2)" from the beginning, end with a WS row.
Shape Armholes
(RS) BO 5 (5, 6, 6, 6) sts at beginning of next 2 rows—76 (80, 84, 88, 94) sts remain. (RS) Dec 1 st each side every row 4 (4, 5, 5, 6) times—68 (72, 74, 78, 82) sts remain.
(RS) Dec 1 st each side every other row 3 (4, 4, 5, 6) times—62 (64, 66, 68, 70) sts remain. Work even until armhole measures 8 (8 1/2, 9, 9 1/2, 9 1/2)" from beginning of shaping, end with a WS row.
Shape Shoulders and Neck(RS) BO 6 sts at beginning of next 4 rows, then 5 (6, 6, 7, 7) sts at beginning of next 2 rows for shoulders—28 (28, 30, 30, 32) sts remain for neck; place remaining sts on holder.
FRONTWork as for Back until armhole measures 6 (6 1/2, 7, 7 1/2, 7 1/2)" from beginning of shaping, end with a WS row—62 (64, 66, 68, 70) sts rem; pm each side of center 10 sts.
Shape Neck
(RS) Work across to marker, place center 10 sts on holder for neck; join a second ball of yarn and work to end.
Working both sides at same time, at each neck edge, BO 3 sts once, 2 sts 1 (1, 2, 2, 2) times, then dec 1 st each side every other row 4 (4, 3, 3, 4) times; and AT SAME TIME, when armhole measures same as Back to shoulder shaping, end with a WS row. 
Shape Shoulders
As for Back.
SLEEVESUsing smaller needles and MC, CO 70 (74, 76, 80, 82) sts.
(RS) Begin 1x1 rib; work even for 4 rows, end with a WS row.
Change to larger needles and St st; work even for 2 rows, end with a WS row.
Shape Bell Sleeve(RS) Dec 1 st each side this row, then every 16 rows 3 times—62 (66, 68, 72, 74) sts remain; pm each side. Work even until piece measures 20" from the beginning, end with a WS row.
Shape Cap(RS) BO 5 (5, 5, 6, 6) sts at beginning of next 2 rows—52 (56, 58, 60, 62) sts remain.
(RS) Dec 1 st each side every row 2 times—48 (52, 54, 56, 58) sts remain. (RS) Dec 1 st each side every other row 12 (12, 13, 13, 14) times—24 (28, 28, 30, 30) sts remain. (RS) BO 5 (6, 6, 7, 7) sts at beginning of next 2 rows—14 (16, 16, 16, 16) sts remain. (RS) BO 7 (8, 8, 8, 8) sts at beginning of next 2 rows.
FINISHINGSew right shoulder. 
Neckband
With RS facing, using smaller needles and MC, pick up and knit 13 (13, 13, 13, 15) sts along left Front shaping, 10 sts from Front holder, 13 (13, 13, 13, 15) sts along right Front shaping, 28 (28, 30, 30, 32) sts from Back neck holder—64 (64, 66, 66, 72) sts. Beginning p1, work even in 1x1 rib for 4 rows. BO all sts loosely in rib.
Sew side of neck band and left shoulder.
Set in sleeves, matching shaping.
Sew sleeve and side seams, matching markers.
Using tn, weave in ends. 


PULLOVER – MACHINE KNIT VERSION
BACK
Note: 
For Striped version, see Notes at beginning of instructions.
  1. COR. Using WY, CO 90 (94, 102, 106, 114) sts. K 6 R. Break off. Reset RC=000.
  2. Change to MC. COR. 
  3. K 2 R.
  4. Dec 1 st ea side E6R 3 (3, 4, 4, 5) times. 84 (88, 94, 98, 104) sts.
  5. K 20 R.
  6. Inc 1 st ea side. 86 (90, 96, 100, 106) sts; pm ea side of work.
  7. K to RC=090 (090, 090, 096, 096). Reset RC=000.
  8. Shape Armholes: BO 5 (5, 6, 6, 6) sts at beg of next 2 R. 76 (80, 84, 88, 94) sts.
  9. (RS) Dec 1 st ea side every R, 4 (4, 5, 5, 6) times. 68 (72, 74, 78, 82) sts. 
  10. (RS) Dec 1 st ea side EOR, 3 (4, 4, 5, 6) times. 62 (64, 66, 68, 70) sts.
  11. K to RC=050 (054, 056, 056, 060).
  12. Shape shoulder: BO 6 sts at beg of next 4 R.
  13. BO 5 (6, 6, 7, 7) sts at beg of next 2 R.
  14. Remove rem 28 (28, 30, 30, 32) sts to WY.
  15. Lower Edge Rib: With WS facing, hang open sts from first R of MC on 90 (94, 102, 106, 114) ndls.
  16. K 4 R. Convert to 1x1 rib.
  17. BO in Back stitch.
FRONT
  1. Work as for back to RC=040 (044, 046, 046, 050) from start of armhole. 62 (64, 66, 68, 70) sts.
  2. Shape Neck: [Note: Shape neck and shoulder AT SAME TIME]. Remove center 10 sts to WY.
  3. Pull ndls LHS of center to HP.
  4. K 1 R.
  5. BO 3 sts at neck edge once.
  6. BO 2 sts at neck edge EOR 1 (1, 2, 2, 2) times.
  7. Dec 1 st at neck edge EOR 4 (4, 3, 3, 4) times. 17 (18, 18, 19, 19) sts. 
  8. Shape Shoulders (at armhole edge) when RC=050 (054, 056, 056, 060). 
  9. BO 6 sts EOR twice.
  10. BO 5 (6, 6, 7, 7) sts.
  11. Push ndls LHS of center to FWP. Reset RC=038 (042, 044, 044, 048). Work second shoulder as for first, reversing shaping.
  12. Lower Edge Rib: Work as for back.
SLEEVES
  1. COR. Using WY, CO 70 (74, 76, 80, 82) sts. K 6 R. Break off. Reset RC=000.
  2. Change to MC. COR. 
  3. K 2 R.
  4. Dec 1 st ea side every 16 R, 4 times. 62 (66, 68, 72, 74) sts. Pm each side of work. RC=066.
  5. K to RC=124. Reset RC=000.
  6. Shape cap: BO 5 (5, 5, 6, 6) sts at beg of next 2 R.
  7. Dec 1 st ea side every R 2 times. 48 (52, 54, 56, 58) sts remain. 
  8. Dec 1 st ea side EOR 12 (12, 13, 13, 14) times. 
  9. BO 5 (6, 6, 7, 7) sts beg of next 2 R. 
  10. BO 7 (8, 8, 8, 8) sts beg of next 2 R.
  11. Lower Edge Rib: With WS facing, hang open sts from first R of MC on 70 (74, 76, 80, 82) ndls.
  12. K 4 R. Convert to 1x1 rib.
  13. BO in Back stitch.
FINISHINGSew right shoulder.
Neckband
  1. Hang neck edge on 64 (64, 66, 66, 72) ndls as foll: 28 (28, 30, 30, 32) sts from back neck, 13 (13, 13, 13, 15) sts from side neck, 10 sts from front neck, 13 (13, 13, 13, 15) sts from side neck.
  2. K 4 R. Convert to 1x1 rib.
  3. BO loosely in Back stitch.
Assembly
Work as for Hand Knitting Version.
